The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of a fast food outlets in the state, Food Affairs, Mr. Isidong Ekong has publicly announced his innocence against the allegation of payment of three hundred thousand naira as compensation for the demolition of his business site in Ikot Ekpene recently.
He said that demolishing people’s business places without notice by ministry of works for furtherance of the road construction at Aba Road, Ikot Ekpene which properties worth millions of naira had been lose to the said exercise had an unlikeable scene as both staff and customers were trapped in the building during demolition though no live was lost.
While making this known to newsmen in Uyo recently, Mr. Ekong lamented over the loss of his assets as none of his properties were rescued and as well the building. Reacting to the rumour of payment of compensation by a consultant, Mr. UbongAbasi Williams, the CEO said he was only been dribbled on several occasions before the demolition.
He further disclaimed his involvement in politics of any level that would have attracted any opposition and the resultant effect on his business as the news on social media carried, “I am a business man, I have never been into politics, every dime loss is mine. I only have an in-law that is a politician”.
