Newsfront Chapel Inducts New Members

It was a celebration galore once again at the weekend as one of the viable and thriving wing of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Akwa Ibom State Council, Newsfront Chapel who added more members to its field at Uyo.

The chapel which had its general congress meeting in its office At No. 85 Olu-Obasanjo Way, Uyo, inducted new members into the chapel as enshrined in the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ constitution.

            On receiving the newly inductee journalists into the chapel to chart a greater course of effective reportage in the state and beyond was the chairman of Newsfront Chapel, Mr. Odii Chidera who commended the newly inductees for identifying with the chapel saluted their courage, zeal and doggedness to become effective and professional journalists in the state.

            The chairman who charged them to work within the confines of journalism ethical code of global based practices and the NUJ constitution urged them to be good ambassadors of information disseminators with clear objectivity in their day to day reportage without fear or favour.

            Also speaking on the event, the former chairman of the chapel who also is the editor-in-chief of Newsfront Newspaper, Pastor Saviour Ekpe (JP) while appreciating the new members for their profound decision to choose Newsfront Chapel as their destination to discharge their responsibilities of journalism practices in the state, called on them to ensure total adherence to rules and regulations of the media outfit and the constitution of the NUJ as their guide.

Mr. Ekpe who also the State Auditor of the Akwa Ibom State Council of the NUJ admonished the newly inductees to ensure a thorough compliances with ethical and professional responsibilities of journalism as well as the world best practice of journalism. He however advised them to work in unity with the old members for the common good and achievement of the chapel as well as the state NUJ as they set to discharge their public responsibilities.

Responding on behalf of the inductees, Comrade Simon Peter who relocated to the state recently to join the Chapel thanked the chapel hierarchy for accepting then into its fold and promised to work assiduously to improve upon the new media information strategies as based suited globally for the benefit of all and sundry.

Among the inductees was the Administrative Secretary of the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, Uyo Campus, Mrs. Ukeme Ubong Akpan and others. It is on record that the inductees having applied to the management, presented their requisite qualifications and served in the media organization for the past one year were qualified according to the NUJ constitution.
