A PDP governorship aspirant for the 2023 governorship elections in Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Idorenyin Umo has paid a consultative visit to the leadership of the Peoples Democratic party in Ibiono Ibom chapter.
Addressing the party faithful, Hon. Umo promised to run a responsive and transparent government that will turn around the state for good and called on the leadership of the party at the Chapter level to key into his vision with a view to making Akwa Ibom great.
The governorship hopeful said this in Ibiatuk, Ibiono Ibom recently when he formally declared his intention to contest for the office of governor, come 2023.
Umo stated that he will not only ensure massive job opportunities for Akwa Ibom youths, but also establishment of industries across the state and, according to him, this will be based on the natural resources endowed to each community.
While welcoming the governorship aspirant and his entourage, the Ibiono Ibom PDP Chapter Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Akpan commented on his perception of the Governorship aspirant said he looks out for character and competence in a leader, adding that the former Lawmaker is eminently qualified to vie for the Governorship of the state and also encouraged him to continue with the Consultation.
Responding on behalf of the delegates, the former chapter chairman of the PDP, Mr. John Joseph Edet described the former Lawmaker, Hon. Idorenyin Umo as a performer and praised him for giving the people the needed voice at the State’s Legislature, during his days.
Also speaking, another former chapter Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Akan Akpan Akpan took his turn in eulogize Hon. Idorenyin Umo, describing him as a square peg in a square hole who has lived up to the expectations of the electorate during his tenure in the State House of Assembly and prayed God to direct his steps towards achieving his aspiration.
The team subsequently moved with a mammoth crowd of supporters to meet the former President of Ibiono Ibom Welfare and Development Union (IWADU), Mr. Effiong Eduese at his Oko-ita residence where Hon. Idorenyin Umo and his team were received and commended for his respect for elders and the people.
