The Permanent Secretary and the Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien, has paid glowing tribute to late Madam Love Nkanta, mother to the member representing Ukanafun State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and Chairman, Public Accounts, Dr. Charity Ido.
The Accountant General who led management on a condolence visit to the lawmaker at her county home in Ukanafun Local Government Area Thursday, said, the late Madam Love, was a devout Christian who lived according to the tenets of Christianity.
Pastor Andrew-Essien who was represented by his deputy, Mrs. Emem George, also described the deceased as a disciplinarian, who loved and cared for her children passionately, as well as laid a solid moral foundation for her children as evidenced in her daughter Dr. Charity.
He opined that the loss of a dear one especially a mother, could be traumatic, but encouraged the children to be consoled that their late mother, lived a cherished life, worthy of adulation.
Responding, the member, representing Ukanafun State Constituency and Chairman of Public Accounts, Dr. Charity Ido expressed gratitude to the Accountant General for identifying with them in their moment of grief, saying, she has enjoyed a cordial working relationship with the Office of the Accountant General.
Dr. Ido said her late mother was peaceful, an exemplification of a good Christian mother and wife. The lawmaker lamented that the untimely exit of her mother at the age of 66, has created a void within the family, as her caring presence and wise counsel will be sorely missed.
Also,.the son-in-law to the deceased, Dr. Friday Ido thanked the Accountant General for his show of love, describing him, as a man of integrity, who is “occupying the office with human face”, adding that giving was an indication of love and concern. Dr. Ido prayed God to bless and keep the Permanent Secretary, so as to continue to impact humanity.
