A’Ibom Civil Service Commission Warns Job Seekers Against Scammers

By Josephine Etuk (CSC)

Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission has alerted  job seekers and members of the public of scammers that pose as recruitment agents of the Commission, affirming that recruitment into the State Civil Service is open to suitably qualified candidates and absolutely free without any cost to applicants.

This was contained in a release signed by the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Elder Sunny Akpadiaha which came on the heels of the report of job racketeers going round the State, extorting money from desperate job seekers for the purpose of placement in the State Civil Service.

The release disassociated the Commission from  such nefarious activities , saying that the Commission has the statutory function to make appointments and as such do not require  any agent nor coordinators for recruitment purposes whatsoever.

It added that the Commission is usually transparent and fair to all candidates during the process of recruitment in which merit is the fundamental principle  for job placements.

The release also urged members of the public to be watchful and to report any encounter with the job racketeers to the State Civil Service Commission with names and phone numbers of culprits for appropriate actions.

It also stated that the Commission would soon partner security agencies to investigate, arrest and prosecute those culpable , warning them to desist forthwith or be made to face the full weight of the law.
