…Score Gov Emmanuel High on Standard & Quality of Infrastructure
Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council has given Governor Udom Emmanuel a pat on the back for his visionary approach to governance and drive to deliver world-class infrastructure in the State.
The Council made the commendation on Wednesday during her facility tour of major projects of the present administration in Uyo,Uruan, Nsit-Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan LGAs. At the new Airport Terminal building which was the first port of call, the Royal Fathers were received by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Bassey Okon and the Project Consultant, Engr Francis Uwah.
Engr Uwah took time to enlighten the team on the components of the soon-to-be inaugurated Airport which he said was equipped with advanced internet connectivity, the first in the country, comparable to any international airport in the world. He added that the facility would open up the State economically and also generate thousands of jobs for the people.
The monarchs also inspected the 21-storey Dakkada smart building, the International worship center, airport road expansion Project, the International Emergency Response centre and the molecular laboratory at Ituk Mbang, Ikot oku Ikono fly-over amongst others.
At the end of the inspection, the President General of the Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence, Ntenyin Dr Solomon Etuk, expressed delight and satisfaction at the quality of the projects as well as the standard of delivery. Ntenyin Etuk who said the aim of the inspection was to enable them have first-hand knowledge of the projects, lauded Governor Emmanuel for etching his name on gold, adding that he would be remembered by the legacies he would leave behind .
He prayed that the incoming administration would sustain the tempo of development and also consolidate the achievements of Governor Emmanuel in the State. The TRC President-General also commended the construction companies handling the landmark projects for timely delivery in line with specifications but however, expressed dissatisfaction at the slow pace of work on the Nsit Atai- Okobo dual road urging the contractor handling the project to redouble efforts to ensure its completion.
Also speaking, the Paramount Ruler of Uyo, Edidem Sylvanus Okon, his counterparts in Uruan and Ibesikpo, Edidem Cosmos Nkanga and Edidem Clement Ekpenyong respectively thanked God for the opportunity to witness what they called the wonders taking place in Akwa Ibom State and pledged to spread the news to their people.
The Secretary, State Traditional Rulers Council,Mr Emmanuel Umontuen, represented the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs , Hon. Frank Archibong. Also on the team were Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Mr Essien Ndueso and Special Assistant on ICT, Mr Solomon Eyo.
