The Director of the Akwa Ibom State Fire Service, Builder Ubong Bassey Umoh has lost his father to the cold hand of death.

The deceased, according to the family statement signed by Builder Ubong Bassey Umoh stated that his late father died in a good old age of 106 years, “it has pleased the Lord to call my beloved father, a centenarian, Obong Bassey Ebong Umoh (106 years) home for eternal rest”.

The statement has it that burial of the centenarian is slated on Friday March 25, 2022 in his country home, Ikot Ebido Oku, Uyo local government area by Winners Chapel. The statement requested the presence of all to bed the departed farewell. Obong Bassey Ebong Umoh was a community leader and advisor whose advice would be missed by all.

In his message of condolence, the Editor-in-Chief of Century Newsfront Newspapers, Saviour Ekpe, on the behalf of the Chairman and of Newsfront Editorial Board, Prof. Imoh Ukpong, Management and staffers of the media outfit noted that the dead of Obong Bassey Ebong Umoh has created a vacuum in the family, while expressing his sympathy to the family, charged them forge ahead for the future, “his death has undoubtedly created a vacuum, which would be difficult to fill. As you mourn, take solace in the fact that the best word of comfort at a time like this comes from God’s word, the Bible. The Holy writ assures us of the resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous (John 5: 28-29). It is on this note that we sympathize with you and your family of this great and irreplaceable loss”.
