A’Ibom Would Soon Become an Industrial Hub – Accountant General

Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Uwem Andrew- Essien has expressed the optimism that with the passion at which the present administration is driving industrialization, Akwa Ibom in the nearest future would become the industrial hub of Africa.

Speaking while receiving in audience, the State chairman and executive of National Union of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (NUMSMSEs) on Monday 8th April, 2019 in his office, Pastor Andrew- Essien said the 15 industries established so far would help Governor Udom Emmanuel actualize his industrialization policy for the State.

The Accountant General stated that the conducive atmosphere and peace experienced in Akwa Ibom has attracted a lot of investors to the State and called on the Union to take advantage of the infrastructures provided by the Governor to grow their businesses. .

Pastor Andrew- Essien advised the body to work closely with the Ministry of Finance to benefit from the loan facility provided by the Federal Government which is domiciled in the Ministry. He lauded the group for coming together to support the industrialization policy of the State Governor and pledged his support to them.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman, National Union of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (NUMSMSEs), Akwa Ibom State branch, Comrade, Anthony Sunday Akpanobong said they were in the Accountant General’s office to seek support in order to enhance and upgrade the Union. Comrade Akpanobong stated that the Union comprises professional entrepreneurs whose vision is to promote the effort of both Federal and State Governments on Small and Medium Enterprise development.

The Chairman lauded the effort of the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel at Empowering youths of the State, noting that this would apart from creating jobs; boost the State’s internally generated revenue.

He congratulated the Governor on his Victory at the polls, his consistent payment of salaries and other emoluments to civil servants both serving and retired and pledged their support to the Governor. Comrade Akpanobong appealed for assistance in the areas of economic empowerment, mobility and inclusion in Government’s programmes within and outside the State.
