The Speaker of Akwa lbom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Aniekan Bassey has pledged the state government’s resolve to site more development projects in Ini Local Government Area.
He made the pledge on Saturday during the 2020 celebration of Esop Mkparawa day at Comprehensive Secondary school in Obotme, Iwerre, INI LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
In his remarks as the Guest of Honour, the Speaker said the establishment of more projects in the community will aid the people’s standard of living as well as attract more investments in the community and the state at large.
While appreciating the community for their unalloyed support towards Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration, he lauded the Chief Whip and the member representing Ini State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong for effectively discharging his legislative duties in the House and his commitment in meeting the yearnings of his people.
He also announced his donation towards the construction of Iwerre Unity Hall, noting that the project will foster unity among the people and aid in deliberating community issues that will bring progress to the clan and Ini Local Government Area as a whole.
Responding, Rt. Hon Emmanuel Ekpenyong appreciated the Speaker for his kind gesture towards bringing developments in the community and also thanked him for contributing towards the Iwerre Unity Hall project. He appreciated his constituent for their cooperation in instilling peace in the land. The high point of the event included unveiling the unity hall design, fund launching of the unity hall and display of cultural troupes.
