In a bid to make life worth living, Akwa Ibom State government, through the Ministry of Works, has concluded plans to distribute free Petrol, Kerosene, air freshner, food bank, provides free Car Wash services, among others to residents of the oil rich State.
The distribution exercise which is in partnership with a Non-profit organization; Free CarWash Campaign Group, will take place in batches in Uyo; this Saturday, 24th November, 2018, next Saturday, 1st December, 2018, Ikot Ekpene and Eket Senatorial District on 7th December, 2018.
Speaking with newsmen in Uyo, the Coordinator, Mr Portrait Peterson, explained that residents will be allowed to choose items to receive.
He added that the distribution exercise will be preceeded by an awareness campaign on “why every Akwa Ibomite should safeguard his or her PVC and make sure they don’t sell or lose it”.
His words: “We want to encourage eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) so that they can exercise their civic responsibility during the forthcoming general elections”.
In Uyo, the venue for the distribution of free Petrol will be Mobil Filling Station, opposite Uyo High School, Oron Road, Uyo, while Kerosene will be distributed at Pirana Filling Station, Ewet Offot (before Ben Udo Street) Uyo.
