The State Coordinator and chairman None Factional Members of All Progressives Congress (APC) Akwa Ibom State, Sir Unyime Ekwere KSJI has enjoined all party members to eschew rancor and close ranks ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Sir Ekwere, a House of Assembly Candidate of the party in 2015 who also aspired in 2019 has said, he also appealed to different factions to jettison the idea of coursing more crises in the party amidst the disagreement that the party leadership at the National level shall certainly resolve the crunch in the party harmoniously.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Uyo, Sir Unyime Ekwere KSJI noted that though disagreement was inevitable in a democratic setting, he said as a critical stakeholder of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Akwa Ibom State Chapter having witnessed the amalgamation of political parties to bring about the All Progressive Congress and also contested election twice for Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in the same party.
That the None factional party Members in the state are not enjoying the whole scenario but are bothered about what the fate of the party will be in the state in 2023. It’s on this note the none factions party members who feel aggrieved by what is going on in the party appealed to different factions to jettison the idea of a planed defecting to another political party or course more crisis in the party that 2023 will be the turning point, is very clearing that APC is having it, he said. ‘History can’t be allowed to repeat itself in Akwa Ibom State. I, therefore, call on the leaders of the party to consider the interest of the party higher and above self by sitting down and resolving the ongoing crisis in the party.
Speaking as a leader of none factional members of the party said he was watching keenly the developments in the party with a special call on all aggrieved members to remain strong to strengthen the party. He said everyone should allow the party national leadership to address the grievances amicably. “I wish to call on aggrieved members to keep confidence with the party, while all peaceful means are exploring for an amicable solution.
