Atiku Abubakar Throws weight behind PDP’s Candidates
… Supports Nana’s non-violent elections Advocacy
The call by Hajia Nana Khadijat Yahaya for nonviolence conduct of the November 16 governorship polls in Kogi state has received a big boost from Nigeria’s biggest political heavyweight Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar said today Monday that he completely aligned himself with Hajia Nana Khadijat’s stance, stating that Kogi needs a peaceful but swift change of power from Yahaya Bello to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Engr Musa Wada.
The PDP Presidential candidate who spoke to our correspondent via Skype was flanked by Hajia Khadijat reiterated Khadijat’s stance, “Kogi workers deserved to be paid their dues at the end of each month”.
Reports have it that Yahaya Bello’s leadership has failed the people of Kogi and that many lives have been lost as a result of continuous and serial debts owed workers under Kogi State employ, “it is saddening that many workers had to commit suicide because the government is owing to them for months. It is therefore right for me to call on all Kogites to vote Eng. Musa Wada in order that the plague of hunger, insecurity and underdevelopment would be a thing of the past”, Atiku noted.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 general election expressed sadness that Kogi citizens had to suffer because of misrule in the past four years.
The political heavyweight, showered encomiums on Hajia Nana Khadijat Yahaya for supporting the PDP and Eng. Musa Wada of the PDP stating that her place in history won’t be forgotten. Hajia Nana Khadijat was the PDP aspirant for the Kogi State House of Assembly. She is also the coordinator of Kogi for Atiku.
