The Obong ifuud 1 of Ibiono Ibom (aka T. Doctor Great) Godwin Okon Daniel marked founder’s day and 9th anniversary celebration of his Natural Healing Home recently in Ibiono Ibom.
T. Doctor Godwin Okon Daniel expressed his gratitude to God for his benevolence upon him and his entire household. He appreciated God for the enablement granted him in the successful running of the Natural Healing Home for the past eight years.
Speaking at the event, the celebrant who also is the ABAI 1 of Niger Delta youths, Akwa Ibom State Chapter said the 9th anniversary of the annual celebration of the founder’s day featured the laying of foundation stone and unveiling of the project prototype college of Dr. Great Herbal, Environment and Management Technology (DGHEMT).
He also revealed that the construction work is ongoing at the moment while affiliation, collaboration and registration with relevant bodies are on course and will soon begin to bear fruits. The herbal expert admonished that the college of Dr. Great Herbal, Environment and Management Technology is not in any way competing with other tertiary institutions, “the aim of the college of Herbal technology is neither to confront nor to compete with our universities; rather its relationship should be for complimentary basis”.
Dr. Great harped that the annual event is self sponsored and as such does not have any political undertone. He acknowledged that he is not a supporter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but a brother and friend to both parties. He however declined that he is not a politician but passionate for community and natural environment development, “I am not a politician and this event is not organized for any political reason”.
The paramount ruler of Ibiono Ibom, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Okuku, (Dr.) Ime Udousoro Inyang acknowledged T. Dr. Godwin Okon Daniel as the proud son of the soil. He described the Obong ifuud 1 of Ibiono Ibom as an enterprising young man whose ambition is on community and natural environment development. The Ibom of Ibiono Ibom thanked the community builder for his tremendous support and contributions to the development of Afaha Obio Eno, the residence of Dr. Great and the entire Ibiono Ibom.
In his contribution, the Village Head-elect of Afaha Obio Eno, Eteidung Anthony Etim Bassey commended the traditional healer for his tireless effort in carrying out researches to proffer lasting solution to different diseases confronting humanity. He prayed God to bless and give him the grace to do more. In an address by the secretary general of the special advisory board of Dr. Great Natural Healing Home, Obong Cletus Udoh said the accomplishment of the proposed college of Dr. Great Herbal, Environment and Management Technology will ultimately turn out well for the generality of Nigerians especially the stakeholders of allied institutions as well as their counterparts in the College of Education. He stressed that the realization of this noble cause will result in greater productivity of both the teacher and the learner of the institution of middle level manpower of our tertiary education subsector and serve as a catalyst and research centre towards the advancement in technological and Herbal education in Nigeria.
In an interaction with Newsfront century, the chairman on the occasion who also is the chairman of traditional medicine practioners in Akwa Ibom state Chief (T. Dr.) Prophet John Effiong Uruk applauded Dr. Great College of Herbal Technology for the actualization of his dream. He emphasized that the goal of the institution is to enable the nation to join the comity of technologically and Natural Herbalogically advanced nations of the world for youth’s empowerment through practical skills acquisition for national development.
Dignitaries in attendance were; the Paramount ruler of Ibiono Ibom, HRM Edidem Okuku Ime Udousoro; the Clan Head of Itam, HRH Etebom Donald Uboh; Royal Fathers, Chairman of PMAN, Akwa Ibom state, Prince Eti-bass, village heads in Itu and Ibiono, family Heads etc. The event, which took place at the celebrant’s residence in Afaha Obio Eno in Ibiono Ibom featured presentation of clothing materials (wrapper) by Dr. Great; presentation of Award of gratitude by the brotherhood of the Cross and Star Area Choir Ibiono Ibom; performance by Super Big Boys Show from Kaduna State; presentation by the different cultural troupes, citation of Obong (T. Dr.) Godwin Okon Daniel; show by fire man among others.
