The convention started on Wednesday 5th over Sunday 9th December 2018, held at field convention ground Ikot Obong Edong, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State with the Theme, “this same Jesus” (Acts 1:11b). The convener, Pastor (Dr.) A. O. Udoiyak (JP), the Ikot Ekpene Field Superintendent/Territorial Chairman, Akwa Ibom State in his welcome address, thanked God for his mercy and grace he had granted participants in this year’s religious celebration, “this seventh Ikot Ekpene Field Annual Convention happens to be the most celebrated one before God for He has wonderfully, miraculously and faithfully in seeing us through every storm and bitterness of life and has also given us the privilege to converge here to ascribed glory, honour and majesty to him.”
Field Superintendent further expanded the theme in another way to indicate that, “this same Jesus is Emmanuel, the light of the world, the king of the universe, the fulfillment of the prophecy, Jesus the Saviour and deliverer and this same Jesus is coming back again”.
Pastor Udoiyak thanked members for keeping faith alive in God who called them graciously to belong to redemptive family “the Apostolic vision” while stressing that the theme of this year’s convention is divinely given as “this same Jesus, Act 1:11b” with the specific purpose to remind people the love of God to the world.
Also speaking, Apostle E. O. Uye enjoined Christian to always practice the true way of worship that Jesus Christ deserves, “What makes a complete and acceptable worship is giving after worship.” He noted that God does not require anything from mortal men rather than worship and giving of thanks. He charged congregants to always seek God and strive for a holy living, which according to him is a panacea for seeing God.
