Cross River Gov Promises To Flush Out Criminals From State’s Waterways

Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade yesterday in Calabar, undertook an on-the-spot assessment of police gunboats and other facilities for making the waterways safe and promised to flush out criminals from the state’s waterways.

The governor reiterated his plan to ensure zero tolerance for insecurity, especially kidnapping and armed robbery in the state. Represented by the newly appointed directed-general of Cross River State Waterways, Mr. Bobby Ekpeyong, he assured the people of the state government’s determination to rid the state of all criminal elements.

The state commissioner of police, Mr. Sikiru Akande, promised to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that those involved in all manners of criminality along the waterways are fished out and brought to book.

Akande who was represented by the state commander, Marine Police, SP Frank Mba, solicited the cooperation of all especially Cross Riverians living within the coastal regions and also admonished them not to be afraid to give useful information to the police.
