The Deputy Minority Whip of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Aremo Abdul-Majid Adesegun Adekoya (Attacker) has acknowledge receipt of the letter of invitation sent to him and has also agreed to honour the youth program where he has been invited as the Distinguished Special Guest of Honour at the Adelaja Adenuga Easter Youth program scheduled to hold at St. Andrew’s Primary School, Ilaporu, close to Oru, Ijebu, Ogun State on Easter Saturday, April 16th 2022 from 10:00am.
The Great Aremo Ebumawe Of Ago Iwoye, Aremo Adesegun Adekoya representing Ijebu-North, Ijebu-East and Ogun Waterside at the federal constituency who has performed excellently and brilliantly well and who has also shown us that he is capable of representing us well emphasized that an Easter program of that magnitude should have as the main objective; to unite the teeming youths of Ago Iwoye, Oru, Awa, Ilaporu, Ijebu Igbo and other nearby towns and communities under the Ijebu North axis.
As a member of the 8th National Assembly in the House of Representatives in Abuja, Aremo Adekoya is the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Land Transport in the House of Representatives. He is also a member of House Committees on Marine Safety, Education & Administration, Information & Communication Technology, FCT Area Councils & Ancillary Matters, Culture & Tourism, Public Petitions, Civil Societies & Development Partners and Delegated Legislation.
To his credit in October 2015, Abdel-Majid and Abiodun John Faleke (APC, Lagos) jointly moved the motion for an investigation into the contract for the installation of CCTV Cameras in Lagos and Abuja by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The committee chaired by Ahmed Yerima (APC, Bauchi) had summoned top government officials, both serving and retired; including the National Security Adviser (NSA) retired General Babagana Monguno, finance minister Kemi Adeosun and CBN governor Godwin Emefiele over the matter. The CCTV contract was awarded to ZTE Corporation, a Chinese company, during the former President Goodluck Jonathan administration for the purpose of security in Abuja and Lagos.
He is an achiever by all standards having facilitated a Multi-Million naira Cardio Thoracic centre to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta despite the fact that it is not his constituency; he made provision of bolehole at Iwopin; Empowerment of youths and woman in batches; Installation of solar street lights at Oni; renovation of Oni health center and provision of generator, plasma TV, mattresses etc; Renovation of a Ratibi mosque along Ebute Oni; empowerment of youths and women in batches and so on. Other notable achievements are: rehabilitation of blocks of classrooms and construction of new ones across his constituency; empowerment of his constituents on quarterly basis and sponsoring a bill for the establishment of a college of education and Specialist hospital in Ago iwoye. He is a great philanthropist who has numerous students on his scholarship payroll from primary school to tertiary education. He is a sincere lover of sports as this has motivated him to be bankrolling annual Attacker Marathon race every December, This silent achiever is the brain behind the construction of the gigantic Ago Iwoye city stadium that is already at the completion stage just to mention a few.
Having Aremo Adesegun Adekoya at the Easter Youth program is a great step in the right direction as a great role model for the Ijebu North youths who are looking up to him.
