ETINOSA Celebrates 100 Years Of Their Alma Mater

The Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Works, Mr Ephraim Inyang-eyen has advocated for the return of Etinan Institute to Akwa Ibom State Government for effective management of the School.

Mr Ephraim Inyang-eyen made the call while receiving the National Executive officers of the Etinan Institute Old Students Association (ETINOSA) and members of the planning committee of the Centenary Celebration of the Etinan Institute, on a courtesy visit to him, recently, in his office.

Mr. Ephraim Inyang, an Old Student of Etinan Institute promised to work closely with the Honourable Commissioner for Education to ensure that government takes full responsibilities of the management of the school.

Concerning the Centenary Celebration of the Institution, which is scheduled to take place from 17th to 20th December, 2015, the Works Commissioner Promised to collaborate with other well-meaning Nigerians, as well as, to invite his friends to participate in the celebration, adding that with their contributions, the 100 years’ celebration of Etinan Institute will not only be epochal but memorable.

He called on all the Old Students of the Institute to make their personal sacrifices and contribution to their alma mater, in the interest of the Institute in future.

The Commissioner urged the National Executive officers and the Centenary Planning Committee members to make good use of the support that will be given during the period to impact positively on the development of the School in order to regain its past glory.

Also the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Works, Dr. Ifreke Ekpa, himself an old Student of Etinan Institute thanked God for sustaining the Institution thus far and promised to contribute his quota towards the success of the celebration.

Earlier, the National President of Etinan Institute Old Students’ Association (ETINOSA). Mr Patrick Johnson lauded the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for the appointment of Mr Ephraim Inyang-eyen, an Old Student of ETINOSA, as member of the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council.

Mr. Johnson explained that they were at the Ministry to intimate the Honourable Commissioner of Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang of the activities of the Centenary Celebration of the Etinan Institute and also to request for some support towards the success of the week long event.

The National President of ETINOSA who gave the theme of the Celebration of 100 years (1915 – 2015) of Etinan Institute as “Redesigning the Architecture of our future’’ said the programme of the celebration will start on Thursday December, 17 with Carnival Float from Uyo to Etinan and there will be a novelty Football Match on the same day. He disclosed that on Friday 18th December, 2015 there will be courtesy visit to Paramount Ruler of Etinan and Transition Committee Chairman, Etinan Local Government Area and also visit to Leprosy Hospital, Ekpene Obom, among other activities.

The Week long event which will also feature interactive session, Cultural display, Match Past, Award presentation and commissioning of projects will be rounded off on Sunday 20th December, 2015 with a Thanksgiving Service at Qua Iboe Church, Etinan.

The National President on behalf of the management of the Institute requests all Old Students and friends to be acquainted with the dates and times of the various events and to attend the programme of events, accordingly.
