Family Life Centre and VVF unit at Mbribri Itam Uyo has concluded plans for the first annual free VVF/ RVF repair surgeries for members of the public.
Admission of patients according to the centre will commence on Sunday 17th January,2021 and will close on Sunday 24th January, 2021 at the centre.
Speaking with our reporter in Uyo on Monday, the Matron in- charge of the centre, Sr. Sylvia Ndubuaku MMM said that only 50 patients will be admitted due to COVID-19 protocols for the repair surgeries adding that the exercise which is yearly ritual will be free while laboratory investigations and treatments before surgery will attract a subsidised amount.
She appealed to members of the public, organizations and governments at various levels to support the centre with donations of any kind to help them continue with the free surgery/ medication.
Similarly, as part of the process to reduce all maternal birth injuries/ complications, become more inclusive in providing quality health care services to both male, female, young and the elderly, the centre is responding through the provision of the following health care services, consultant’s Gynecological clinic,consultant’s pediatric clinic, Ante- natal clinic, surgery of all types and general out patient consultations for male, female and children.
Other services include, Laboratory investigations, normal deliveries- caesarean section and neonatal care, outreaches like immunization , school and community care services, free repairs of leakage of urine and feces, rehabilitation and reintegration of repaired patients and skills acquisition for repaired patients.
