…Says, Her Philosophy of Relevance is Gaining Scholastic and Biblical Knowledge

The first female Uyo Senatorial District Candidate, Princess. (Dr.) Victoria Ibokette has admonished students and graduands of Peace Institute of Management and Technology, (Peace Poly) Abak, to be focused, determined and dedicated in their approach to life generally.
Recalling that these are the qualities and virtues that have kept her in the corridor or platforms of life as a success, Princess Ibokette, advised the matriculating students of the school to begin to look inward as they are starting a new journey into new terrain.
The Senatorial hopeful, who is contesting the 2023 election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) handed down the advice during the matriculation and convocation ceremony of the Peace Institute of Management and Technology (Peace Poly) reminded the matriculating students to put in their all in pursuit of their careers, which, she observed remains their only hope for the future.
Princess Ibokette while advising the matriculating students noted that the process of achieving the said goal might not be very palatable. Still, with determination, she stated, success was assured, as there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, “I want you to congratulate each other. Yes! You must know that you are here today because you desired a future, pictured a future, and pushed yourself forward. Paraventure someone pushed you, congratulations! God came to you. In life, my philosophy or ideology of relevance is Knowledge, Gaining Scholastic and Biblical knowledge. This has kept me in the corridor and platforms of life as a success, so to the matriculating students, as you start this journey today, remember that you saw a picture of the future and to achieve it, you ventured into the process. The process might not be like your approach in Secondary school; so be focused, determined, dedicated and committed to your mission here. Move away from distractions and distractors. Learn to be responsible, maintain a positive attitude, persevere, have confidence in yourself, learn from your mistakes, and above all be a prayerful person”.
To the graduating students, the Senatorial candidate enjoined them to see themselves as worthy Ambassadors of the fast-growing institution, wherever they find themselves. “For the graduating students, I salute your courage. The courage to push yourself to this point. Remember you saw this day and you desired it so now I present to you a future! A future where your mental value, skills, attitude and confidence will give you a place. you must not stop, you must never give up, you must keep moving, and you must trust God. Remember Joshua 1 verse 8 It is a guide, it is your responsibility to make your way prosperous and to be in good health. Don’t give in to pressure; don’t bow to circumstances or challenges. They are visitors and will surely go away. Stay on the path that God has set for you to follow and remain focused”, she emphasized.
Earlier the guest lecturer on the occasion and Chairman, Redemption FM, Abak, Prof. Ahaziah Umana, bemoaned government’s lackluster attitude toward education in the country, noting that, the priority given to education currently, which is the future of every society, is a shame and sham.
Citing the case of the ongoing ASUU strike in the country, for instance, the University Don lamented that the prolonged strike has affected the educational future of the students as well as brought the reputation of teaching and learning into disrepute and ridicule.
Prof.Umanah expressed shock that education, which is the future of every sane society and hope of tomorrow, can be swept under the carpet in favour of political interests and politics, sympathizing with the students, who, he observed, were the worst hit in the whole debacle.
