The death of George Floyd a young African American man has put most Americans, especially the Blacks in deep pains, anger and emotional despair. The pains of racism and discrimination have been eating up Black Americans in America where the blacks are not able to enjoy equal rights as the White American Citizens. The ill-treatments on the blacks in America are unimaginable. This was why George Floyd was pinned to death by American racist police and yet, justice is yet to be done.
The likes of Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Joe Biden, Barrack Obama, the Governor of Minneapolis, United Nations and many others have actually condemned the brutality and have demanded that justice be done to the killers of George Floyd, even as President Donald Trump keeps ranting in his usual manner and describing the protest as the war against America by Thugs and Criminals.
It is on this note that the Blacks are not currently resting until the issue of injustice is adequately addressed with fairness and respect for a black person’s life in America. The Black folks went on their “I Can’t Breathe” protest in Miami and the Miami’s police officers could be seen here as they displayed a real Character of humans.
When the protesters stormed Miami, all the Police officers sent to control them, went on their knees instead of stopping them. Infact, most of them joined the protesters while some of them could be seen hugging the protesters. It was really a successful protest as this shows that the Blacks are gradually winning the battle of demanding that law enforcement officers show them respect and dignity in the performance of their duties.
The protesters are demanding justice in the brutal and cold-blooded murder of George Floyd, who was murdered in the police custody by a white racist police officer on the streets of Minneapolis last week. The “I Can’t Breathe & Black Lives Matter” protest has been ongoing for the past 5 days now and it is plagued with massive looting, vandalism, destruction of properties and other tangible infrastructures.
