ICLM Holds Her Annual Conference

… Inducts New Members

The 2018 Annual National Leadership Conference of the Institute of Corporate Leadership and Mentorship (ICLM) held yesterday 6th December, 2018 at the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations Secretariat, Information Drive, Uyo with the theme, “Re-defining Your Leadership Technique for Organization’s Effectiveness”.

The National President of ICLM, Pastor Emmanuel Eduongo, in his address gives God the glory for bringing the institute this far since inception in 2017, “it’s been exactly one year since our esteemed organization, Institute of Corporate Leadership and Mentorship was inaugurated in an elaborate event on November 30, 2017 at the Multi-purpose Hall, Governor’s Office Annex, Uyo”. He added that running any organization in a highly competitive environment could be more challenging and tasking, but within the one year period of operation as an institute, remarkable progress has been recorded by creating awareness of the existence of the Institute as one of the professional capacity building platforms in Nigeria.

Pastor Eduongo, a professional Journalist used the occasion to highlights the achievements of the Institute within a span of one year to include membership base that cuts across broad societal strata: members of the academia, clergymen, business magnets, public servants etc, training and conferences, publication of 3 editions of “Panleda”, an official publication of the Institute, and launching of the Institute official website as well as maintaining online presence on the social media platform.

In a conference paper presentation by Dr. (Mrs.) Rosalyn Essien, a fellow of the Institute spoke on the conference theme; “Redefining your Leadership Techniques for Organization’s Effectiveness”, Mrs. Essien expounded on the nitty-gritty of leadership to include being a good listener, mastering of all forms of communication, being creative, innovative and always delegating duties to employees among others. “All leaders are good managers but not all managers are good leaders”, she added.

The event features unveiling of the Institute newsletter, cutting of anniversary cake, induction of new members, and presentation of certificates to participants. Some of the inductees was Evangelist Saviour Ekpe (JP), Publisher Newsfront Newspapers; Amb. Sampson Akpan, Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel; Apostle Sunny Akpadiaha, Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Civil Service among others.
