…Promises More Road Construction
The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Rep. Unyime Idem, today, flagged off the construction of 2.8km phase one of the Ikot Akpa Nkuk/Nyak Iba/Usung Atiat/Ikot Akpa Idem/Ikot Udombang road in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Performing the flag off, Idem said it was part of his plans to ensure connection of rural communities in the federal constituency with a good road network to boost rural economy and assist farmers evacuate their farm produce to city centres.
Idem thanked the benefiting communities for their cooperation and urged them to remain peaceful and united. He admonished them to continue cooperating with the contractors for the timely and successful completion of the project.
The Ukanafun born lawmaker promised to attract more development projects to the Federal constituency. The Initiator of skills empowerment for 5000 youths listed other roads to be constructed soon to include Amiamiaowo – Akpan Assiek Market Road, Police Station/Ikot Udo Obobo/Idung Eka Uyo/Ikot Akpa Nkuk road and Motor Park Road.
Others are NIFOR Sub Station road and Ikot Ukpongeren bridge,in Oruk Anam Local Government Area. In his reaction, Engr. Godswill Onyema who spoke on behalf of the Construction Company, Maridiq Nigeria Limited, thanked the people for the warm reception and cooperation accorded his team. He assured that the project will be completed in 3 months.
