A Socio-Political organization in the state registered with Bureau of Political, Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Ekọm Udom Enno Initiative, led by its Director General, Dr. Godswill Ekpo has stormed the palace of Ezendigbo CYC, where all the major stakeholders of Igbo community in Akwa Ibom State were gathered to seek for partnership to appreciate Governor Udom Emmanuel for providing a conducive environment for their businesses to thrive.
Addressing the Igwe in Council and indeed business magnates from the Igbo community who have contributed immensely to the economic development of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Ekpo said Governor Udom Emmanuel is putting muscular apparatus on notion for historical industrial development of the state.
He pointing out that the policy thrust of Gov. Emmanuel which anchors on industrialization, job and wealth creations is all embracive hence, the need for Igbo community and indeed every tribe in the country resident in the state to form alliance with Ekọm Udom Enno Initiative to carry the massage of gratitude to the Governor.
According to the DG, the group has watched with keen interest the unparallel and competent managerial leadership prowess of the Governor in repositioning our mono economy on the path of sustainable growth, maintaining that the superb performance of the Governor is the brain behind the peaceful and industrial atmosphere which he emphasized gingers the interest of foreign investors to come in and invest in the state.
Dr. Godswill Ekpo who is the Chief Medical Director of God’s Own Clinic, hinted that, the call for synergy from non indigenes to support the Government of Governor Udom Emmanuel is characterized by the fact that Igbo people in Akwa Ibom State are very organized, peace loving and committed to contributing towards the development of the state.
On their parts, the Secretary General of Ekọm Udom Enno Initiative, Hon. Inimfon Ebe and the treasurer of the group noted that the Governor has done a lot for the people both indigenes and non-indigenes but unfortunately, most of the beneficiaries of government magnanimity lack a veritable platform to thank the governor for his kind gesture.
They stressed the need for all the tribes and ethnic groups in the state to take advantage of the platform to thank and appreciate the Governor and people of the state for ensuring peaceful co- existence with the non indigenes.
The leadership of the group therefore emphasized the need for all and sundry in the state to support the Government of Udom Emmanuel, his programmes and policies beyond 2019 for a robust and accelerated spread of dividends of democracy to the people even in the proletariat.
Meanwhile, Igbo Community resident in Akwa Ibom State who hosted the group at the palace of Ezendigbo, CYC in Uyo, the state capital city lauded the initiative of the foremost socio political organization in the State, Ekọm Udom Enno initiative, for seeking partnership with the Igbos in the state while pledging to parley with the group in mobilizing support and appreciate Governor Udom Emmanuel for creating an enabling environment for their businesses to flourish in the State.
The president of Igbo Community in Akwa Ibom State who was mandated by the Igwe in council to speak on behalf of the Igbo community stated that Ekọm Udom Enno Initiative has come to the right people for partnership, disclosing that they have been playing supportive role to the state government from inception and promised to do more in the near future even beyond 2019.
He said that Igbo people in the state are the business tycoons that have been driving and contributing hugely to the economic development of Akwa Ibom State, assuring that the Igbo community will not relent in remaining loyal to the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State under watch of a seasoned financial administrator, Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. The president of Igbo community explained further that Igbos resident in the state are all voters and cards carried members.
While pouring encomiums on the Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel for his pragmatic leadership dexterity, stressed that with the policy thrust of the present administration in the State which gear towards industrialization, Akwa Ibom people and indeed its inhabitants stand to benefit tremendously in the nearest future.
The Igbo community in the state therefore lauded the leadership of Ekọm Udom Enno initiative, for its visionary disposition, expressing delight for all inclusive generosity spirit of the group in carrying other tribes and ethnic groups resident in the state along, and however urged them to maintain the status quo for others to emulate, noting that with such gesture, the group can be seen as setting the pace of oneness among other tribes in Nigeria.
