…Says They Made His Achievements Possible

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Itu Division, CSP Celestine Umeh has attributed his success in Itu to the cooperation and efficiency of his men and officers.
CSP Umeh made this commendation in Itu when he hosted officers and men of Itu Division on end-of-year get-together at the Divisional Headquarters. Operating on the ‘all work and no play’ philosophy, the DPO noted that though it is his custom always to appreciate them every year, it was necessary to ‘un-wine’ and re-gather strength for more work for the coming year.
The Police boss in the Division while expressing his deep appreciation to his officers said that all of them made him proud but few that received commendations were exceptional, urged them to continue to put on their best in their chosen careers as the greatest reward will come from God, the Almighty Creator.
Among those that received the DPO commendation awards were ASP Micheal Abuo, Most Efficient Patrol Commander; Inspr. (Woman) Idorenyen Edet, Best IPO of the year; Inspr. Edidiong Edet- most Punctual/duty-conscious CRO of the year; CPC Uwem Dan- Neatest officer of the year while special commendation went to PC Maurice 
Ekon (popularly known as Silver & Gold) for winning Silver & Gold in Karate during the just concluded Police Games in Uyo.
CSP Umeh thanked The Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi for giving him the opportunity to serve in that capacity amidst thousands of other qualified officers and pledged his continuous commitment to the work and loyalty to the Commissioner for his success in the state.
Speaking to Century Newsfront, some non-uniform participants commended the DPO for appreciating his officer and dolling awards to 
some of the deserving ones. The respondent expressed surprise at seeing the different dancing steps by the officers, “what I saw tonight was surprising, truly, I didn’t know that police use to dance and even smile. Seeing them in this mode gives me confidence in the police that they are real human beings”.
The event, though ran into night featured dancing to the DJ’s tune by officers and men of the force including the DPO; eating different varieties of food and drinks and issuing awards of commendation to deserving officers and men of the Division and its accompanied cash eq
uivalent.
