…As physically challenged, ors Smile Home with Empowerment Gifts

It was agog at St. Paul’s primary school, Mbak Obio Itam in Itu local government Area as member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom in the House of Representatives; Hon (Dr.) Henry Archibong put smiles on the faces of many constituent members by showering dividend of democracy on them last weekend.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, Dr. Archibong explained that he wants the people of Itu and Ibiono to enjoy the dividend of democracy that is the reason he summons this get together and empowerment ceremony. The legislator further noted that he is the first MP to donate car to supporter on his swearing in day, added that he wants to empower some people today that more people will be empowered subsequently. He warned beneficial not to sale those items instead they should use them judiciously as a source of income, given the economic value of those items. He therefore called on everybody in the constituency irrespective of the party affiliation to come together so that they can build the constituency. The ranking member of the House of Representatives made it known that all wards are represented in his office as he employs them as aids for easy contact.

As one of the activities marking the day’s event, Dr. Archibong commissioned and handed over a two bedroom bungalow at Enen Atai Itam to a member of the constituency. Empowerment items worth millions of Naira, special supports, educational supports to students, money for market women and also business supports. Others were car, fourteen tricycle pickups, three mini buses, six generators, six deep freezers, twelve sewing machines, two grass cutting machines, seven generators, and barbing kits, one electric washing machine, ten hair dryers, two welding machines, drilling/ filling PPR plumbing machine, automobile complete tool box, support for shop rent. Many people went home smiling with cash ranging from 30-100 thousand naira.

Speaking to Century Newsfront, one of the beneficiaries who gave her name as Mrs. Eta joined others to pour encomiums on the MP. In her statement as she enunciate, “I was looking for a bike since am selling water and everybody knows the challenges when you don’t have transport to deliver the goods to your customer, so today the MP has given me a tricycle, which will aid in my business. I thank him so much I am very happy may God bless the MP for us”.

Goodwill messages from eminent members of the federal constituency of Itu and Ibiono Ibom local governments were presented including the Executive Chairman of Itu local government area, Barr. Etetim Onuk. Present at the event were seasoned politicians from the area, among them were former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Ignitius Edet; former member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly who represented Itu, Dr. Ekaete Ebong Okon; Engr. Tony James.
