Reports reaching our news desk indicate that incident of kerosene explosion has reached an alarming rate which have killed scores of people, rendering many homeless, tracing the condition to those dealers selling the product by the roadside.
To reduce this situation it therefore becomes pertinent for users to be more extra vigilant as well as making sure that the product are purchased from approved petrol stations.
It is discovered that those selling on roadsides adulterate the product by mixing large quantity of petrol which sells less than kerosene.
Our petroleum desk understands that kerosene sells at four hundred naira per litre while petrol is one hundred and forty five naira per litre.
We therefore call on the government to check the excesses of these dealers of the product to stem incidence of kerosene explosion in the state bearing in mind that fight against corruption in the country is ongoing.
Such dealers in this dirty business should note that while unsuspecting buyers are dying each day as reported by the media, they would be held responsible for the damage they have caused.
Remember the local saying that “adep urua idiaha idiok.”
