All is now set for the 3rd Mass Communication Conference of the Department of Mass Communication, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, billed up for June 11–13 at the Assembly hall of the institution.
In a release issued by the chairman, Conference Planning Committee, Mr. Aniekan James and Secretary, Mr. Inemesit Umoren states that the conference will have Professor Ashong Ashong of the Department of Communication Arts, University of Uyo and Dr. Churchill Akpan of the Department of Mass Communication, Akwa Ibom State University as keynote speakers while Professor Elijah John of the Department Of Philosophy, University of Uyo will be the lead paper presenter.
According to the release, the conference which has as it theme, “Rethinking Media Ethics in Nigeria” has the Dean, School of Communication Arts, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Dr. Lionel Ukoka and the Acting Head of Department, Mass Communication, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic as host while the Acting Rector of the institution, Dr. Moses Umobong will be the chief host
The release also has it that the conference will have scholars from all over the country and will be chaired by Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong, member representing Ikot Ekpene federal constituency in the National Assembly.
Dr. Udeme Nana and Dr. Mrs. Maria Stella both of the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua are to chair the difference sessions of the conference while the chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Hon. Uyime Etim will be the special Guest among others.
