In a bit to reposition its workforce and create enabling environment for media profession to thrive in state, the management of Oralmedia Communications stages a one day training workshop for new staffers.
The Managing Director of Oralmedia Communications, Saviour Ekpe while addressing the newly recruited reporters on the intricacies of effective news writing on headline casting, byline, introduction of a new story among others. Speaking at the event, the media executive charged the new reporters to be current and update in everything, “as a journalist, you must constantly update yourself to keep abreast with the current trend” stressed that journalists are very intelligent only when they are given to reading and effective use of the dictionary.
At the workshop, the media professional harped on the need for journalists to inculcate and maintained a good command of English in order to excel in the profession. While addressing the participants stressed that it was pertinent for journalists to be creative in their reportage in order to captivate the reader’s interest.
In an interview with one of the participants, Miss Idaresit Okon said, “the training workshop was indeed a life transforming event as awareness was created in different angles of news writing”. She however commended the management of the Corporation for the privileged given to the young journalists to develop their writing skills.
The event featured news writing, headline casting, presentation of code of ethics, creating of personalized email for Newsfront Newspapers website etc.
