Ntukekpo Set To Attend APC’S Nec Meeting With Other State Chairmen

By Thomas Thomas

His Ebullience, High Chief Stephen Ntukekpo will attend the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Africa’s largest, strongest and dominating political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) tomorrow in Abuja.

He is constitutionally invited as the State Chairman of APC in Akwa Ibom State by the National Chairman, His Excellency, Senator Abdullahi Adamu. The constitution of the party provides that all State Chairmen of the party are automatic members of NEC. It is pertinent to note that NEC of APC is the highest decision making organ of the party.

It could be recalled that Mr. Ntukekpo was overwhelmingly elected as the State Chairman by the party in Akwa Ibom State on the 16th of October, 2021; and his name was subsequently submitted to INEC by the now defunct APC Caretaker Committee and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee. However, some chieftains of the Party who were not comfortable with his victory surreptitiously went to INEC to perform abracadabra, thus prompting Mr. Ntukekpo and his team to approach Justice Taiwo Taiwo Federal High Court to stall the demonic and undemocratic move, hence, the March 17th judgment which confirmed the authenticity of Ntukekpo and his team from Ward to State level.

Uncomfortable with the Federal High Court judgment, the APC CECPC led by Mai Mala Buni and his then Secretary, Distinguished Senator Udoedehe approached the Appeal Court, Abuja in their efforts to set aside the lower court judgment, but unfortunately, the new party leadership withdrew from the case, and advised the immediate past Caretaker Secretary to back out of the case on grounds that he was their employee, and cannot continue in a case that his employer has no interest. Based on that, the Appeal Court dismissed the appeal, but fixed May 17 to determine if Udoedehe can on his own push on with the case.

Meanwhile, no record worth its name in Nigeria has the name of Austin Ekanem and his gang. INEC records, party records and court records all have the names of Stephen Ntukekpo and his team. According to a very senior lawyer, Udoedehe has no case, as the Appellate Court will throw away his case.
