The yearly pension verification/screening exercise for all State Government pensioners including Primary School Teachers would commence on Monday, 9th – 12th March, 2020 with pensioners from Eket Senatorial District by 9am.
A statement by the Director of Inspectorate, Office of the Accountant General, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Ifiok Ibanga shows that the verification exercise has been segmented into the pensioners’ various banks to avoid overcrowding and enhance speed.
The schedule according to Mr. Ifiok Ibanga indicates that pensioners who have their accounts with First Bank, Ecobank, Keystone Bank, Stanbic, IBTC, Wema Bank and Unity Bank would be screened on Monday 9th March, 2020. Those with Diamond Bank, FCMB, Ini Bank, Fidelity and Access Bank will have their turn on Tuesday 10th March, 2020.
While those in Union Bank, Polaris Bank, GTB, Mutual Alliance and Heritage Bank would be screen on Wednesday, 11th March, 2020. UBA, Sterling Bank, Zenith Bank, Bank of Agric NACR, Akwa Savings and Loans Limited account holders will take their turn on Thursday, 12th March, 2020, and spillover cases would be handled on the 13th of March, 2020 at the Inspectorate Department of the Accountant General’s Office.
Consequently, the affected Government pensioners are to appear at their respective Sub-Treasuries for the verification exercise with their pension identity card, letter of 1st appointment, confirmation/ratification of appointment, last promotion, retirement letter, white/blue paper and change of name where applicable.
Pensioners are please requested to appear in person for the exercise as screening would not be done by proxy. The dates for Ikot Ekpene and Uyo Senatorial Districts including Uyo Sub – Treasury would be made known.
