The friendly match between Onofiok young Stars FC of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area and Future Stars Federation FC of Uyo Local Government Area ended 2-1 in favour of Onofiok Young Stars FC.
Victor Udo-Ekpo with jersey number 7 of Onofiok Young Stars FC recorded their first goal four minutes after the commencement of the match which started at 4:50pm on Sunday at St. Stephen Primary School, Ikot Etobo, Nsit Ubium local Government Area.
Twenty-eight minutes after, the match recorded an equalizing goal from jersey number 10 (Kingsley Sunday) which resulted at 1-1 draw in the first half of the friendly match. Just about five minutes to the end of second half, Onofiok Young Stars FC winning goal came via penalty. The penalty was scored by number 7 jersey (Victor Udo-Ekpo).
Speaking with Century Newsfront the Manager of Future Federation FC, Mr. Nsikak Ekpe of said that though his team played well, to have played them 1-1 draw at the end of first half shows that the players were good and played very well to have equalized. The Manager also said that he is not happy with the officiating referee, adding that the referee did not give them 50-50 attention they were expecting. He thanked God for injury free match and also assured the people that his team will win in a return match.
He called on government, multinational companies and public spirited individuals to come to the aid of the club in order to move to the next level, “our club is really going to places. The boys are trying in their chosen career, they are doing marvelously well. We need to encourage them by providing them with kits, empowering them in all ramifications. We are calling on government and public spirited individuals to support us financially and otherwise so as to excel. They need to be properly kitted and empowered to excel”.
On his part, the coach of Onofiok Young Stars FC, Mr. Godwin Friday thanked God the winning; he thanked his players, supporters and the organizers of the successful match.
