The Paramount Ruler of Itu local government area, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Dr. Edet Akpan Inyang has extolled the initiative of media professionals from Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency under the aegis of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Media Vanguard.
The Etitu Itu who was full of praises with the progenitors of the media vanguard identified what he described as their singlemindedness and unity of purpose in coming together as a great asset as this, according to him has the capacity to speed up development of the areas. The Paramount Ruler observed that unity can work wonders to any group of people of like minds.
The Ambassador of Peace maintained that for Itu and Ibiono Ibom local government areas to develop at the pace they desire there must be unity among the political class, academics, professionals among others.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Media Vanguard, Saviour Ekpe, JP who was flanked by the other Board members, Executive and other members of the body said that the visit was to abreast the Royal Father of the birth of the organization and seek his royal support and blessing.
Mr. Ekpe who also is the Editor-in-Chief of Century Newsfront Newspapers said that the media vanguard is made up of core journalists and media workers of both private and public media organisations from the two local government areas is aimed at informing, defending, educating and acting as advocate for the people of the two LGAs, noted that the idea of the birth of the body is broad-based that the body will remain apathetic to all political parties and will transcend any administration.
