The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has charged the people of Ini local government area on the need for them to rise above board and harness the natural endowment nature has blessed them with.
The governor said this during his campaign rally while addressing the people of Ini local government at the council headquarters, Odoro Ikpe recently. Speaking, he maintained that the people of Ini while waiting for more development that will soon broke out in the area should take advantage of the just commissioned rice mill in the area, which according to the governor, is just the beginning. He called on them to embrace the dakkada Philosophy by engaging in effective rice plantation, noted that God has blessed them with good and fertile land in other to promote the industrialization capacity of the area.
The State Chief Executive admonished the youths of the area not to waste their youthful ages in frivolities and social vices but channel them in meaningful venture for self sustenance. He further appreciated them for their previous support given him in 2015 and called for more in the upcoming general elections.
Reacting, the Executive Chairman of Ini local government area, Elder Israel Idaisin described the governor as ‘first born of Ini’. The Chairman pointing out that governor Udom Emmanuel has catapult the image of local government through his industrialization initiative, “Ini local government has not been reckoned with in terms of government presence, but the present administration led by Governor Udom Emmanuel, Ini today is one of the industrial hubs in the state”.
He called on the governor to continue in his good works for according to the Chairman, his work will speak for him during the next year general election. He promised to stand by the governor despite the challenges and obstacles for he will soon overcome them.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Glory Edet appreciated the governor for his enormous works in Ini and Akwa Ibom state. She added that the governor is a blessing to Akwa Ibom. The event attracted a cream of politicians across the state.
