Governor Udom Emmanuel, in his irrevocable commitment to create enduring legacy of his administration by effecting the developmental needs of every part of the state has directed for the inspection of Idiaba-Nda Nsit-Nung Udoe road with a view to include same in the first phase of the on-going road construction projects in the state.
The Honorable Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang made the disclosure while on a road inspection tour of Nsit-Atai Local Government Area, yesterday.
Mr. Ephraim Inyang who was conducted round the Idiaba-Nda Nsit-Nung Udoe road by the member representing Nsit Atai State constituency, in the AKHA, Elder Mark Esset expressed shock at the present condition of the road which is completely impassable and has paralyzed economic activities and social interactions among the communities in the area.
The Commissioner expressed Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s readiness to construct the Idaba-Nda Nsit-Nung Udoe road among others projects in Nsit Atai and called on the people to continue to have confidence in the leadership of the governor in the state as he is committed to ameliorate the suffering of the masses by executing life touching and intervention projects.
The Works Commissioner who was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ifreke Ekpa and Directors of the Ministry directed the Works Engineers to immediately bring up the Idiaba-Nda Nsit-Nung Udoe road profile for consideration and inclusion in the on-going road construction project of the State Government.
Mr. Inyang who appreciated the peaceful disposition and cooperation of the people of Nsit- Atai Local Government Area with the present Government advised them against building new structures within the alignment of the Idiaba-Nda Nsit-Nung Udoe road project, explaining that compensation would only be paid on those structures and projects that are already within road profile.
Speaking, Elder Mark Esset said the people of Nsit-Atai Local Government Area will remain committed to the Government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel, adding that for the past 16 years Nsit Atai L.G.A could not boast of any road project from the state government.
Elder Mark Esset lauded the policy thrust of Governor Udom Emmanuel which is geared towards providing needed infrastructure, industrialization and empowerment of the people.
Also the political leader of Nsit-Atai, Otu-ekong Raphael Bassey describe Governor Udom Emmanuel as a promise keeper pledged the unflinching support and loyalty of the people of Nsit-Atai L.G.A to his admiration to enable him succeed.
The village Head of Idiaba, Chief Edet David Udo-udo who spoke on behalf of all other village heads in the area, thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for keeping to his electioneering promises and for the interest shown on the construction of the road which is now inaccessible.
