The Chairman, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Service Commission, Arch Bishop Andrew Uwanta has charged Members of the Uyo Club 1935 to exhibit high level of responsibilities in order to move the organization to a greater height.
The Chairman who gave the charge while playing host to the delegations of the club led by the President, Dr. Ku’ubra Uya at the Assembly Service conference hall, Udoudoma Avenue in Uyo, said for any organization to grow, there must be a demonstration of credibility which is a strong signal worthy of higher position. While calling on the president of the club, Dr. Ku’ubra Uya to extend hand of fellowship to every member of the club stressed that the synergy of the team is what is expected by respecting one another to produce undefeated synergy in the team, especially in a sport team where more people are involved to play together as a team, the combination and interaction of the team members produce the desired results, noting that this is the only way to foster growth and progress of any organization. Uwanta restated his commitment to support the organization for it to achieve it desire objectives.
He congratulated the newly elected president on his victory during the last election of the club, described the victory as well-deserved, adding that he is confident on the President’s credibility to man the club effectively. He observed that the club which is older than the state deserves the best among other organizations in the state.
Speaking, the President of the Club, Dr. Ku’ubra Uya said the visit became imperative for the purpose of intimating the Chairman on the way forward of the club. Dr. Uya said the club has recorded giant strides since his assumption of office as President of as new members have been inducted into the club including Vincent Eyeama, Uko Udom – Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Vice Chairman, Exxon Mobil, Mr. Udom Unouyo among others. He disclosed that currently, the club has open its windows to induct new members who may have interest to join and become a member of the club.
The President commended the Assembly Service Chairman for being a pillar to the club and his sense of courage to move the organization forward. Highpoint of the visit was the official decoration of the Chairman with tag for being a useful member of the President of Uyo Club.
The visit had in attendance, members of the Assembly Service Commission including, Antigha Isong, Commissioner 1; Obong Francis Inyang, Commissioner 2; Elder Sylvanus Akpan, Secretary of the Commission as well as members of the Club including, Esther Udofia, Former Vice President; Comrade Aniefiok Ekarika. Others are, Macaulay Udom, Sir Robert Ikpoh Emmanuel Ebe and John Ekpo.
