… Ignores Zoning in Uyo Senatorial District
… Endorses OBA for second term

The Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Paul Ekpo has finally come out openly to endorse and support Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo) senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Bassey Albert (popularly known as OBA) for a second term.
Obong Ekpo who is the chairman of chairmen of the People’s Democratic Party in Nigeria made the declaration last week Friday during his good will message at the Constituency Briefing / Empowerment programme organized by the senator, Obong Bassey Albert to his constituents.
The State Chairman of the Party said that his duty is to provide a level playing ground for elections. He said he will not discourage anybody from picking the party form if after much messages and endorsement of OBA for a second term, adding that the party will be glad to receive money from the aspirants.
He said; “… also my duty is to provide a level playing ground, I will not discourage anybody, if all these preaching, if all these sermon I’ve said and you still want to buy the party form, but note that the moment your money enters the party account, there is no refund.”
It could be recalled that on 23rd March this year, the executive governor of the state, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel during Abak 5 Youths mega rally / reception said that the party will ensure zoning is respected based on the fact that justice and equity brings peace, orderliness and harmony in the Party.
Governor Udom said ;…”for those of you wearing campaign T-shirts also carrying posters, do ensure zoning favours your principal. Because we will ensure zoning is respected based on the fact that justice and equity brings peace, orderliness and harmony in the Party which we must all embrace”.
Also on January 20th this year, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, issued out a communiqué at the end of a State Caucus meeting of the party held at Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo. The party insisted that there is no going back on the approved zoning arrangement for 2019 general elections for all elective positions in the State.
