In a bid to sustain Akwa Ibom as the cleanest State in Nigeria, more receptacles and waste baskets procured by the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency (AKSEPWMA) on Thursday, arrived Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
According to the AKSEPWMA Boss, Obong Prince Ikim, the branded receptacles and waste baskets will be distributed to all shops and residence within Uyo metropolis and other city centers across the State at an affordable cost.
“The long-awaited receptacles and waste baskets arrived at my office earlier today; from next week, we will commence the distribution to all shops and households across the State, at an affordable price. The modalities for distribution will be made public in a short while” Ikim Added.
The award-winning Board chairman maintained that the waste baskets and receptacles when fully distributed will enhance efficient and effective waste collection from households. He called on residents and citizens of the State to continuously cooperate with the State Government in its effort to keep Uyo and the State clean.
