The Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin local government area, Hon. Andrew Ekanem Brown has concluded plans to establish Ibom Innovative And Technology Academy in the area.
The Chairman made this known last weekend when played host to some media executive in his office. He said that the moribund Oil and gas training centre, which was instituted by his predecessor, Mr. Ephraim Akpan that has been vandalized would be converted to Ibom Innovative And Technology Academy, which according to him the process of registration has reached a top gear.
The Council Boss explain with delight some of his achievement since assumption of office less than seven months ago to include reactivation of shoe industry built by previous administration; repairing the generating set of the council that was abandoned for the past seven years; creating enabling working environment for the council staff; among many other achievements.
Answering questions on his refusal to take care of the security agencies within his domain, including the one hundred thousand naira allowances per month he promise as support to the immediate past DPO of the area, DSP Michael Offiong (retired), the Council helmsman noted that he did not come to share money in the council. He however explained that there was no written agreement to that effect. He however noted that “the retired DPO, DSP Michael Offiong did a fantastic job in Mkpat Enin local government area”.
