The Ministry of Lands and Water Resources is embarking on the provision of sites and services at government estates in Akwa Ibom.
A release by the Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Retired Captain Iniobong Ekong listed the estates to include Government Residential Estate, Nung Ette, Government Residential Estate, Iba Oku and Government Residential Estate, Ikot Oduot Ibesikpo.
Others are Government Residential Estate, Nung Oku, Commercial Estate, Atan Offot and Employment Centre/Light industries.
According to the release, activities being undertaken are opening of internal roads and mounting of electric poles within the estates as well as fencing and water reticulation in some of the estates.
The release has it that the gesture is intended to encourage allotters to reciprocate same towards the development of the estates by taking advantage of the move to commence building activities on their individual plots.
The Ministry urges the public to note that failure to comply with the government’s directive within a six months’ period may attract the revocation of allocation eelier issued to the allotters as contained in the letters of allocation.
