The wife of the editor of Newsfront newspaper, Late (Mrs.) Essiet Monday Akpan has passed on. The husband, Mr. Monday Akpan told Newsfront that the late wife died last Sunday after a protracted illness. The Management Staff and members of Oralmedia Communications, Publishers of Century Newsfront newspapers and Newsfront Chapel of the NUJ heartily condole with their Editor and Vice Chairman of the chapel.
In his reaction, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Newsfront Newspapers, Evang. Saviour Ekpe said that the death of the Editor’s wife came in such a time that the family needs her wise and motherly counsel most, “it is indeed a great shock because, Late (Mrs.) Essiet Monday Akpan meant so much to our Editor and leaving him in such a time that the Editor needs her most even her children is something that the entire family members need personal courage to bear such irreplaceable loss”. My earnest prayer and that of the entire Newsfront family is that the Almighty God gives the family the fortitude to bear the painful loss”.
Similarly, the Chairman, Newsfront Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Joe Etokudor expressed shock over the sudden demise of the Matriarch, Late (Mrs.) Essiet Monday Akpan. He noted some of the outstanding qualities of the departed that endeared members of the chapel to the Family of the Chapel Vice Chairman, Elder Monday Akpan. Comrade Etokudor charged the bereaved to be consoled for the fact that the departed lived and died as a Christian, “we are pleased on the ground that the deceased was a devout Christian. May her gentle soul found solace in the bosom of Abraham, Amen!”.
