A’Ibom LG Commissioner Hails Akwa Ibom Entertainers

…Pledges Partnership and Support for the success of Entertainers Week

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong has lauded Artists and Entertainers in Akwa Ibom State for their creativity, talents and contributions toward the developmental agenda of the State Government.

Hon Frank Archibong was speaking in Uyo on Monday during a courtesy call on him by the Akwa Ibom Entertainers Association led by Mr David Sergeant popularly known as Utang Akwa Ibom. The Local Government and Chieftaincy boss also commended the group for promoting the culture and tourism sector of Governor Emmanuel-led administration, urging them to keep up the good job while tasking them to strive to bring the people under one umbrella.

“I appreciate this group and what it stands for; the ability of the Entertainers in the State to project and defend the rich cultural heritage of the State to the world must be commended by all right thinking members of the public”. He pledged partnership with the group as well as financial support towards the success of their upcoming program.

The Commissioner called for maximum support towards the completion agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel as well as his succession plan, stressing that Umo Eno is a worthy successor who has all it takes to sustain the lofty goals of the present administration in the State.

Speaking earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Mr David Sergeant also known as Utang Akwa Ibom said the visit was to seek partnership with the Commissioner and to intimate him of the second edition of Entertainers Week billed to begin from the 13th of September.

Mr Sergeant further stated that about ten thousand Entertainers would be mobilized for the weeklong event which would be graced by the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Mr Umo Eno, political elites, captains of industries, and the general public.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Udom Emmanuel for creating a platform that has brought them to work together and for supporting entertainers in the State to actualize their dreams. High point of the visit was the induction of Hon Frank Archibong as BOT Member of the group.
