AK LG Helmsman Tasks Royal Fathers On Unity And Effective Leadership

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Frank Archibong gave the charge in Uyo on Thursday while interacting with the Board of Trustees and Executive officers of Mboho Mme Etteidung at the old Chambers of the Traditional rulers’ Council.

Hon Archibong asserted that as government at the grassroots, the royal fathers have a responsibility of putting their houses in order, accommodating all interests and making the traditional institution formidable.

Acknowledging that the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has left no stone unturned towards the uplift of traditional rulers in the State, the Commissioner reaffirmed the State government’s resolve to continually accord traditional institution its pride of place.

Hon Frank Archibong who stressed the importance of updating knowledge in line with the global trend disclosed that his Ministry would soon conduct training sessions for Coordinators of Mboho Mme Etteidung who would in turn impart the same knowledge to all village heads in communities across the State, suing for continued support for the completion agenda of State Government.

Earlier in an address, the Secretary General of Mboho Mme Etteidung, Etinyin Okon Edet Effiong who stated they were on an official visit added that the Mboho Mme Etteidung emanates from traditional rulers of Akwa Ibom State who have come together as a team to work for peace, progress and harmonious co-existence of government at all levels.

Etinyin Effiong appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel for his people- centred leadership in the State as well as the Commissioner, Hon Frank Archibong for hard work and commitment to service, pledging to maintain and preserve the rich culture, customs, tradition and heritage of Akwa Ibom State.

The event was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Elder Ini Ikie, Secretary, State Council of Chiefs, Mr Emmanuel Umontuen and other senior staff of the Ministry.
