…Monday Ben, aka Monday Akpautong Backs Sen John Udoedehe for Governorship
Yesterday, I had the privilege of briefing wards and Chapter officers of Ibesikpo Asutan Chapter of our great party, the APC on the revised agenda of the party in the area of fighting poverty in Akwa Ibom State if APC is elected to power in 2023.
The proposal which was adopted the first Austin Ekanem led State Working Committee meeting of APC in Akwa Ibom State on Wednesday, 16th February 2022 at party house, 149 Ikot Ekpene road, Uyo, seeks to make N1m available to 1000 citizens in each of the Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State to start small scale businesses to create middle class citizens who can keep growing the economy of the State and become self-reliant.
I asked party officers to take the message to their wards, villages and units in Ibesikpo Asutan and remain committed and push APC to Victory in Akwa Ibom State to be able to reap the reward of building the party from when it was Action Congress, Action Congress of Nigeria and All Progressives Congress, APC. I urge them to ask what PDP’s plan to tackle poverty and unemployment is and how effective such plan has been in the last twenty years of PDP rule. Of course PDP had no agenda to develop people and will never have.
Earlier, Dr Ita Udosen, immediate past State Chairman of APC revealed why APC stakeholders endorsed Senator John Udoedehe as consensus candidate for the party. He said it was to ensure no stranded PDP politician jumps into the party to distract party members on the 2023 focus as to who shall be the governorship candidate of APC. He said the party was willing to negotiate, grant waivers and fly interested aspirants on other tickets like Senate, House of Representatives if they join the party. The governorship ticket, in the opinion of the Stakeholders, according to Dr Udosen, is exclusively for Senator John Udoedehe who has laboured to grow the party and had the capacity to deliver Victory at the poll.
We inducted Dr Abia into the party as an elder. Alhaji Monday Ben, aka, Monday Akpautong attended the stakeholders meeting. He spoke glowingly about Sen John Udoedehe whom he described as his governor in 2023 and asked party members to support him. He donated handsomely to the party and warned against distraction as the party heads towards victory.
Chapter Chairman, Elder Simeon Jerome Eyo said the party in Ibesikpo Asutan would follow the directives of the Stakeholders on Senator John Udoedehe as Consensus candidate of APC for the Governorship poll. He said Sen John Udoedehe, a friend of Ibesikpo Asutan, is a household name in Akwa Ibom State with better programs that shall add value to the lives of the citizens.
My name is Solomon Johnny, Publicity Secretary, APC, Akwa Ibom State.
