The mother of Don-Davis Archibong, the erstwhile student of the Deeper Life High school, Uyo Campus, Mrs. Deborah Archibong has dismissed allegations against the school, saying that she was not given a listening ear.

Mrs. Archibong made this explanation in Uyo during a Peace and Reconciliation Reception party organized by the school in honour of Don-Davis given the final outcome of the peace and reconciliatory meetings. She noted that her actions and outcry were based on the fact that no one gave her due attention to express her feelings, “Taking it to the public brought us to where we are today. That drag was because nobody was giving me a listening ear to express myself. For the parties that were involved, which I am one of them, I would say we should all be on the learning side. We should learn to approach things quickly irrespective of who is involved. To be honest, I am a business person and I know what it means for an organization to be dragged, especially when it is dragged wrongly. Don-Davis came to Deeper Life High school for discipline and high morals. And looking at the children in the school, you can see discipline in them”.

She commended the cooperative spirit of staffers of the Deeper Life High school, noted that they exhibit Christ’s virtue in their lifestyles and character, “The good news that I want to trend on social media is that I like the cooperation of teachers, the principal and every other person in the school. I see Christ in every one of them. I know that Deeper Life High school has come to stay”.

She added that her son, Don-Davis was enrolled for his secondary education at Deeper Life High School because of the sound moral standard and discipline the school had been known for.

Speaking at the peace and reconciliation reception organized by the school, the lead counsel to Deeper Life High School, Taiwo Kupolati SAN, commended the High Court Judge, Justice Ntong Ntong, who initiated the peace process. He also commended both parties for accepting the peace process, which could have snowballed into unimaginable legal tussle, “It is to the glory of God that after two conferences, both parties and individuals concerned; the school and the children involved came together to reconcile. We got a consent judgement that we should come together to unite the students and let them know it is better to live a united life as they are the future of this generation. Today is to celebrate and affirm the principle of peace. I want everyone to know that as parents, we must seek and boldly enforce peace because he who does not have peace is not entitled to good life”.

The legal luminary appreciated the mother of Don-Davis for accepting peace, “I thank Deborah Archibong so much for agreeing to have this matter resolved at no financial cost because of the future of the children. All the bad memories and negative publicity are gone”, said Kupolati

Earlier in his remark, the State Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Emmanuel Amaeze, who was represented by Pastor Timothy Adewuyi charged everyone to always act and make peace ‘for they shall be called the children of God’. He noted that the time for disagreement had passed, described students of Deeper Life High School as people with distinction.

It could be recalled that Don-Davis’ parents in suit no: HU/197/2021 sued two senior students of the Deeper Life High School, Uyo Campus, Shalom Ibikunle and Ola Feyisetan, the Principal, Mrs. Ndidi Solomon and some teachers for abuse, molestation and neglect of their son while in the hostel though medical report indicated that the student was not abused as his parents claimed.

On March 23, 2022, Century Newsfront  learnt that all parties agreed to a consent judgement with specific terms of settlement which stated that Deeper Life High School, Uyo shall organize a Peace and Reconciliation Reception for Don-Davis at Uyo Campus with a Memorabilia presented to him, “The 1st Defendant shall at a date to be agreed in future between the Parties organize a Peace and Reconciliation Reception for the Claimant at Uyo Campus of the 1st Defendant with a Memorabilia presented to the Claimant-all at the expense of the Deeper Life High School, Uyo Campus.”

Also added that in view of suit No. HU/197/2021 and the aforesaid Criminal Charge Nos HU/164/C/2021 and HU/212/2021, the parents of Don-Davis should not institute further case in the future against any of the parties, “the Claimant shall not institute any further Civil or Criminal action in future on the basis of the facts in the instant Civil suit No. HU/197/2021 and the aforesaid Criminal Charge Nos HU/164/C/2021 and HU/212/2021″.

Highpoint of the peace and reconciliation meeting was the presentation of memorabilia, an AI (artificial intelligence) robotic kit, to Don-Davis Archibong as a parting gift from the Deeper Life High School. Present at the occasion were Barr. Sampson Awoji, counsel to Don-Davis; parents of all parties involved; Former and present Principal, Deeper Life High School, Uyo campus, Mrs. Ndidi Solomon and Mrs. Eunice Ndulue; A cross section of Deeper Life pastors including Pastors Nicholas Ekarika and Inyang and a cross section of students of the Deeper Life High School, Uyo campus.
