Sometime in the Period leading to the 2015 General Elections in Nigeria, I was at the Hilton Transcorp Hotel in Abuja for a Meeting. In-between the Morning and Afternoon Sessions of my Meeting, I ran into a Lagos-Based Associate of mine who was at the time an Official of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and who, excited at seeing me, prevailed on me to come with him to speak briefly at his own Event in one of the Halls in the same Hilton Transcorp Hotel. It was a Prayer Meeting of Intercession for Nigeria which was at the time reeling in blood from multiple terror attacks especially in the Abuja Federal Capital Territory.
This associate of mine knew fully well that the Organization I led was vigorously campaigning against the conduct of any further Elections under the Disputed 1999 Constitution and therefore, stood for the deferment of the 2015 General Elections so that Nigeria would first undertake the Reconstruction of its Damaged Constitutional Basis before embarking on any other Elections.
Thus ambushed, as we walked into the venue, I asked myself: “what are you going to tell these visibly troubled Men of God who are trying so fervently to step into the gap for a Nigeria that was bleeding so profusely?
Just then, a thought came to me to seize that fortuitous opportunity to speak to those Men of God about the spiritual source of Nigeria’s Problems, knowing that my friend expected me to speak about the Faulty Constitutional Foundation of Nigeria which was responsible for the many woes of Nigeria.
To his shock, as I got on the podium, I announced to the Men of God who were equally looking forward to hearing the usual Constitutional Homilies, that I would be speaking on the Spiritual Source of Nigeria’s Failures and Calamities. There was palpable apprehension in the room the Men of God did not know what to expect.
With a Brief Introduction about the need for a Cause-Effect Analysis for Problem Solving or the Diagnosis-Before-Treatment Rule, I proceeded very quickly to ask them if they knew that the Ten Commandments in the Bible were for Nations as well as for Men, and that if they were to audit Nigeria against the stipulations of those Ten Commandments, they might come to a better understanding of the Spiritual Source of Nigeria’s Intractable Problems and therefore redirect their Energies and Prayers accordingly, alerting them that their Prayers will be an abomination in the sight of God if Nigeria as an entity was in open breach of those Ten Commandments.
I invited them to juxtapose Nigeria with a few Successful Countries we frequently refer to in praise of their advancement and measure their Compliance with the Ten Commandments in comparison with Nigeria’s Compliance. I chose the United States, Germany and Israel for that measurement and so I randomly took five of the Commandments as our examples.
(1) “THOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GOD BESIDE ME”:
Guided by this Commandment, the United States adopted as its National Motto: “IN GOD WE TRUST”. On the other hand, Nigeria prides itself a Secular State, meaning that God should not be brought into the affairs of Nigeria. With this Foundational License, there are hundreds of gods in the land and widespread idolatry. Some of us worship Snakes. Others Crocodiles and all manner of other Objects which we describe as Traditional Religion.
(2) “THOU SHALL NOT KILL”
In keeping with this Commandment, many Countries of the World and many States of the United States abolished the Death Sentence from their Statute, with US extending their Compliance to Outlawing Abortions which it considers to be tantamount to Taking of Lives. Nigeria on the hand Kills for Sport and is constantly extending the list of Offences that would carry Capital Punishment. The current President of Nigeria never ceases to boast about the Killing of over Three Million People in Eastern Nigeria, to Keep Nigeria One.
(3) “THOU SHALL NOT STEAL”
Nigeria’s main source of Income is the Robbery of Forcefully Hijacking and Confiscating the Economic Assets of its Constituent Components including the Oil and Gas Assets of the Niger-Delta, Maritime Assets of the Coastal States and Solid Minerals including Limestone of Benue. Other Countries try to tighten their Laws to minimize the possibility of stealing, especially from public coffers; punishing severely the few that Steal, while Nigeria grants Constitutional Immunity to its biggest thieves. The Corruption and Impunity that Reign in Nigeria flow directly from Nigeria’s Disobedience to this particular Commandment.
(4) “THOU SHALL NOT LIE”
Nigeria as an entity anchors its Constitution and very existence on the egregious Lie that “We the People” agreed upon, then made and enacted the Union Agreement we call the 1999 Constitution. Other Countries punish lies especially in the Public Sphere with Strict Laws on Perjury.
(5) “HONOUR THY FATHER AND THY MOTHER THAT THY DAYS MAY BE LONG”
While the US and Israel accord their Senior Citizens every care and respect, Nigeria takes delight in humiliating and traumatizing its Senior Citizens to death, especially Pensioners who served Nigeria with all their Strength.
In Keeping with this Particular Commandment that spelt out a consequence that could mean Long or Short Lifespan, Israel in addition to taking great care of its Senior Citizen, crafted a School Curriculum under which Israeli Children go through a scheme where they keep Elderly Seniors company in their homes and learn the history of their Country from stories told by these Seniors who participated in the fight to create their Country.
Is anyone still wondering why the life of Nigeria as a Political Union might be cut short?. By the time I had taken these Five Examples, these Men of God were bewildered and were looking at one another, jolted by the meaning and implications of something they thought they knew so well.
I went on to tell them that Praying for a Nigeria that is living in open Breach and Defiance of God’s Express Commandments against Idolatry, Killing, Stealing, Lying and Dishonoring our Fathers and Mothers is like Praying for the Success and Prosperity of a Robbery Gang, notorious for Killing, or a Kidnapping Gang notorious for Ritual Murders. Are Nigerians not feeling Kidnapped in their Homeland and therefore crying for REFERENDUMS to determine their political future?
I closed by calling those Men of God to Repentance from the Abomination they lift up before God daily in the name of “Praying for Nigeria”, warning them that the wrath of God might descend upon them especially now that they know that Nigeria as Currently Configured and Defined; and in all its Crooked Ways and Wickedness is a Standing Abomination in the Sight of God. I also challenged them to probe the charge of Sodomy in High Places that featured prominently in the Coup Speeches of January 15, 1966 and April 22, 1990 because of the grave consequences upon the Land if those charges are true.
By this Epistle, I wish to call the Attention of the Church in Nigeria to the following: (A) The Nigeria Defined by the Fraudulent 1999 Constitution is a Criminal Enterprise and a Gross Iniquity that cannot yield any great good, and this is the Chief-Reason for the Toxic Quagmire that Nigeria has become. Further Elections Under the 1999 Constitution will only deepen and reinforce the Evil we see.
An IMMEDIATE Transitioning to Peacefully ease out that Atrocious and Fraudulent 1999 Constitution is what the situation demands, and NINAS has placed before Nigeria and Nigerians, a Clear Template (encapsulated in its December 16, 2020 Constitutional Force Majeure Proclamation) for how this could be undertaken.
(B) The NINAS Onslaught against the 1999 Constitution represents a Fight Between Light and Darkness as well as a Contest Between Truth and Falsehood. Accordingly, if the Church in Nigeria is on the side of Light and on the side of Truth, NINAS will expect that the Church joins in this Huge Battle against Darkness and Falsehood. May the Mercy of God Prevail.
