A professor of Research, Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems, Peace Udosen rolled out drums to celebrate his 64 years old father amidst pomp and pageantry with a call on parents to take the academic development of their children seriously as this, according to the erudite and cerebral scholar, will bequeath undeniable future to those children.
Prof. Udosen, the president of an Abuja-based international, interdisciplinary research organization, Peace International Interdisciplinary Research Institute (PIIRI) also doubles as the head of Administration, Peace Polytechnic, Abak local government area observed that his tour around the world was as a result of his father seeing beyond by sending him to school and ensured that he acquires the right discipline that today, has benefit many, not only in Nigeria but outside the shores of Africa.
In an abridged citation of the patriarch, Apostle (Prince) Efefiong Udosen, a father of two and grandfather of six, a revered Minister of the gospel was born to a royal family of Late Obong Efiong Udosen in Oku Ikot Edung Village, Uruan local government area of Akwa Ibom State. Given his instinct in leadership, Apostle Efefiong Udosen in his early days was appointed youth president whose reign was celebrated in and around the community, notably, it was his strong and courageous advocacy for educated royal fathers, which has produced results.
As a philanthropist, Apostle Udosen has sponsored numerous less privileged but brilliant students in tertiary institutions around the country; donated school uniforms and other academic materials to both schools in his community and students to enhance their academic growth; sponsorship football competitions and other sports and games as well as kitting them for optimal performance.
Guests who spoke glowingly attributed the resilient lifestyle of Prof. Udosen to his father whom he celebrated while life and commended him for celebrating his father, added that some people stage parties when their father is gone, argued that ‘this is the best celebration of a rare gem’.
The event attracted personalities nationwide, including top-notch bureaucrats, seasoned security experts, scholars and a cross-section of staff and students of Peace Polytechnic, Abak. The occasion featured the commissioning of street lights initiated by Prof. Peace Udosen; cultural display; the unveiling of remembrance plague of Late Obong Efiong Udosen; birthday dance by the celebrants and guests; goodwill messages among others, while arrays of Uta cultural display, Obio-okpo ekpo-masquerades danced and paraded to add vim to the event.
