The traditional ruler of Yukuben chiefdom in Takum council of Taraba State, Udeng Ibrahim Yamusa Achilok, was abducted and killed by his close aides who were angered by their sack, it was said yestersay.
Police confirmed that six persons were arrested in connection with the murder. The traditional ruler was abducted alongside his son Musa last Wednesday, and their bodies found two days later. A source alleged that principal suspects comprising the secretary to the Yukuben traditional council and the personal driver to the third-class chief were earlier sacked by the traditional ruler.
It was said that the sacked persons conspired with some others to abduct and kill him. Police confirmed the arrest of six suspects in connection with the abduction and murder.
Acting police spokesman Kwache Gambo told The Nation that the suspects confessed to the crime and that the Force was after other fleeing suspects.
