The foremost Innovative Institution in the state located near Army Barrack in Ibagwa, Peace Institute of Management & Technology Mbarakom, Abak Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State has a new Governing Board Chairman.
The Rector of the Institute, Dr. Peace Udosen broke the news at the campus when he conducted the new Governing Council Chairman, Dr. Abasiono Okon round the campus vicinity. The Rector who also intimated guests of achievements gained since the commencement of the institution maintained the institution is licensed by the Federal Government to offer and award Ordinary National Diploma (OND) & Higher National Diploma (HND) in various courses in Management & Technology.
Doctor Udosen, himself a result-oriented, versatile and an academic par excellence noted that after months of deliberations, found an outstanding personality who according to him has contributed immensely to the education sector of Akwa Ibom State. He described the Governing Council Chairman as a seasoned motivator, a great scholar, a philanthropist and an astute Leader whom in all seasons believe in human capacity development as a paradigm for development maintained that Dr. Abasiono Okon as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Institution will bring his wealth of experience to bare, “some of you may not be too familiar with our new Chairman of the Governing Council, he is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Abaringo Nig. Ltd. I am personally happy over his appointment because he is a man of excellence who stands for and believes in excellence, we are proud of him and I am confident, he will certainly make us proud”, the Rector assured.
In his response, the newly appointed Chairman, Governing Council of Peace Institute of Management & Technology Mbarakom, Dr. Abasiono Okon thanked the Rector and the Management team of the Institution for finding him worthy to man such position in the Institution. He described the Rector as a man with great vigor, passion and focus in building a formidable institution and encouraging technologically driven medium to enhance learning in the 21st century. He promised to contribute to the best of his ability in facilitating growth and development in the institution.
Dr. Abasiono Okon while accepting the responsibility promised that his Company, ABARINGO NIG. LTD will work in liaison with the school authority to ensure the implementation of the proposed HND building complex will be completed in no distant time.
The event featured the handing over of the prototype of HND building complex to the Chairman, Governing Council, conducting guests to the site of the proposed HND complex by the Rector and other management staffers of the Institution.
