..Says access to healthcare services, well-being of the people remains top priority of A-R-I-S-E Agenda

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Augustine Umoh has called on the health insurance managers to be more proactive and vibrant in their programs and activities for the scheme to achieve its set objectives for the benefit of the people.
Speaking during an advocacy awareness visit to the commissioner by the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) led by Dr. Godwin Ebuk in the company of Dr. Adolphus Okoro,
South-South Director of the National Health Insurance Authority, Dr. Nuhu Ajodi, along with the Executive Secretary of the State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Igbemi Arthur on Monday at Idongesit Nkanga Secretariate, Uyo Prof. Augustine Umoh welcomed the delegation team. He assured them of the readiness of the Government always to support the program, reiterating the importance attached to health insurance by the present administration of Governor Umo Eno. The Commissioner emphasized that quality health and well-being of the people constitute a major priority in the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno.
Earlier, the lead consultant for the Programme, Dr. Godwin Ebuk, said they were on an advocacy and awareness visit for the Government to partner them up for the practical impact of the Programme.
Dr. Ebuk disclosed that CHAI plans to launch “Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine Against Cervical Cancer in Girls Ages 9–14 years” in Akwa Ibom State on 25th September 2023, and that, the State Government’s support to the event would be most welcome.
Also speaking, the South-South Director of the National Health Insurance Authority, Dr. Nuhu Ajodi, commended the efforts of the State Government through the Ministry towards a more workable health insurance scheme in the State and solicited cooperation, better government partnership and support for the insurance program.
