It was another night of glitz as friends, well wishers, the management team of the Ministry of Information and Strategy as well as members of the foremost socio-cultural organisation, Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, gathered in their numbers at Decozy Lounge in Uyo to celebrate the birthday of their super stylish Permanent Secretary, Akparawa James Edet.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary acknowledged God’s benevolence upon his life, especially for his recent elevation to the apex of his career. While thanking God for preserving him through difficult moments, Edet appreciated members of his family for standing by him, and his guests for identifying with him on his special day.
Speaking, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong hailed his Permanent Secretary for proving to be a reliable friend and a supportive colleague whom he described as a strong piller, especially for his administrative roles in ensuring that the Ministry achieve its set mandates.
” One person whom I know is very intelligent yet very humble and down to earth is Akparawa James Edet. He has distinguished himself as a professional, and as a public servant. Perhaps that is why the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel found him worthy to be appointed as Permanent Secretary, and graciously retain him in the Ministry “.
Also addressing the gathering, the International President of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akparawa ( Obong ) Patrick Udofia described the celebrator as a proud ambassador of the organisation, adding that his contributions to the growth of the foremost Ibibio sociocultural organisations and the state were commendable.
Highpoint of the night was the presentation of a giant size birthday card by the management team of the Ministry of Information and Strategy as well as a toast to long life and good health proposed by Akparawa Efiok Idaha on behalf of the celebrator.
Present at the occasion were: the wife of the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Grace James Edet, executive members of Mbobo Mkparawa Ibibio, Directors of Ministry of Information and Strategy as well as the newly elected Chairman of the Information Chapel of NUJ, Comrade Effiong Edet, among others.
